WEINIG at Xylexpo: 100 per cent quality The technology leader for the solid wood processing industry and master craftsmen will display its full range of products in Milan, including many innovations and improved products. Intelligent, profitable solutions for cutting, profiling and optimisation will be presented. Window production will be given a special focus. A. Planing and profiling: Perfection from the global leader WEINIG will present its successful Powermat moulder range at Xylexpo as a platform for multiple applications. The range of machines on show will start with the entry-level model Powermat 400 through to the powerful Powermat 1000. The presentation will be rounded off with the Variomat for longitudinal and end profiling in one machine. New: Powermat 1000 spezial with a working width of 350 mm In order to accommodate working widths up to 350 mm, the new Powermat 1000 spezial uses a double-sided pattern plate spiral milling head (SMH) and a dual tool with a length of 350 mm. A counter plate is not required. The new Powermat 1000 spezial has PowerLock tool holders on all spindles, runs at up to 7200 rev/min and is fitted with the latest version of EasyCom control. Structure planing on the Powermat 1000 Structured surfaces are increasingly in demand. This is a reaction of end users who find it increasingly difficult to differentiate between solid wood and highly finished plastic surfaces. WEINIG will demonstrate on the Powermat 1000 how economical and versatile profiles can be made with an authentic wood character. Spindles 5 and 7 are designed as oscillating spindles to allow for differentiated structuring of surfaces. For very complex processes an additional universal oscillating spindle is available. With this equipment a finely graduated structure can be achieved to satisfy the highest demands of the latest trends while ensuring excellent surface quality. Powermat 500 WIN: the specialist for window manufacturers The Powermat 1000 WIN was launched at the Nuremburg trade fair and immediately struck gold among professionals. The machine was designed specially for window production and is used for pre-planing window edges and profiling slats. Highlights include a synchronised pneumatic spindle controlled via the PowerCom PLUS and power adjustment of the straightening table and edge jointing fence via a joystick. EasyCom: a control system with attractive new features The EasyCom control system is ideal for small companies which do not have their own sharpening unit, where work is determined by the workshop and all adjustments should preferably be made on the machine as simply as possible. WEINIG will present an improved product in Milan. EasyCom has just got easier. The update has a new swivel arm with a larger radius which reaches inside the machine, so that retooling can be controlled inside the machine. The motor start is now integrated in the operating panel, offering even more added value. The most important innovation is the energy-efficient Eco-Start-Stop system which lengths the already long service life of WEINIG motors even more thanks to its innovative technology. The main features include the motor start-up, which protects the motor, and the auto-adaptive motor brake. By adjusting to the relevant tool weight only the minimum amount of energy is used. As a result wear on the belt and all mechanical parts is reduced. Global innovation: adjusting dimensions without stopping the machine With the new ATS WEINIG will present the first system to comply with EU standards which allows width and thickness to be adjusted during production. The required workpiece dimensions are entered via the PowerCom or EasyCom controls. A laser monitors the inside of the machine. The ATS is reliable and increases productivity. B. Complete window production: WEINIG proudly presents the window factory WEINIG offers expertise throughout the whole process chain. Starting with cutting on the OptiCut S 50 through planing edges and slats on the Powermat 500 to complete processing of individual parts on the CNC center Conturex and driving in dowels with the UniPin 100, WEINIG covers the whole production process with its product range. Close collaboration with partners in the fields of software, tools and surfaces round off this integrated palette for customers. A complex unit will be exhibited in Milan where the individual components can communicate with each other via a standard WEINIG interface. The Conturex 124 is the heart of the unit. The second generation window center processes lengths up to 6 meters fully automatically, ensuring low manning and economical production up to batch size 1. Retooling is no longer needed thanks to the patented PowerGrip. Absolute positioning accuracy ensures perfect surface quality. Conturex was designed as an open system, independent of spindle length and tool slots. If requirements change or if another window system has to be produced, the existing facility can be adapted with the minimum of modification. In addition to the C 124 which will be exhibited in Milan, customers can choose from a broad range of models, from the C 226 with two portals, two PowerGrip clamping tables and the option for a magazine with 390 tool slots. The specialists from the Technical Competence Center at WEINIG will demonstrate at Xylexpo how production cycles - from data capture to shipment of goods - can be optimized and controlled using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). Transponder technology using data chips means that parts can be fed "randomly" into the production process but still be processed by the facility in the correct order. C. Wood optimization: greater timber yield with greater added value New: S 450 Quantum II – the fastest OptiCut The new generation high-speed optimizing cross-cut saws from the WEINIG DimterLine sets new standards with a maximum speed of 450 m/min and up to 15% more throughput when cross-cutting flaws. In single board operation it reaches an average shift performance of 28,000 running meters/8h. This performance is constant, i.e. independent of feed length and width, through reduction of board gaps. With its braking energy recovery and intelligent energy management, the Quantum II is highly energy-efficient. The VarioSpeed infeed system means it can be linked in a production line with the OptiScan+ scanner to provide 100% optimization. New: CombiScan+ 400 C The new scanner in the WEINIG LuxscanLine is designed for use in a high-performance cutting line with 2 saws. It is fitted with 4 color cameras and 4 multi-channel laser cameras. Sensors for measuring thickness via X-ray and identifying unplaned areas can be added as an option. Thanks to its modular design, the scanner is highly versatile and can adapt flexibly to specific customer needs. For the first time, the X-ray unit can be retrofitted to the scanner, ensuring that this scanner model will retain its value in the future in all variations. With the optional real-time random width module, nothing now stands in the way of applications where decreasing widths are concerned. A specialized version is available for cutting, ripping and sorting applications. OptiCut S 90 Speed Accurate cutting and high speeds are the outstanding features of the new WEINIG OptiCut S 90 Speed. The flexible saw from the DimterLine is equally suitable for single board as well as packet operation and satisfies the needs of the most disparate user groups. The pusher system allows up to 240 m/min with a positioning accuracy of +/- 0.1 mm. In single-board operation an average shift output of 6000 - 8000 running meters/8h is achieved. Expertise in finger jointing At Xylexpo WEINIG will exhibit the Ultra TT GreconLine from its broad range of finger jointing units of all performance categories. Both vertical and horizontal finger jointing lines can be processed by this unit. The Ultra TT is available in semi-automated and fully automated versions. The packet chamfer unit has a packet width of 600 mm and a cutting height of up to 205 mm. Boards are aligned at the front end and then cut at right angles. The optimized chamfer unit cuts the finger joints into the front end of the workpiece packet. After turning on the rotary table, the chamfer cuts the other end of the workpiece packet. After the second chamfer process, the amount of glue is measured exactly by the patented FlankenJet system. The Ultra TT is offered in 3 different models. The system can be fitted for 60, 80 or 100 pieces/min according to customers' needs. Innovative ripping solutions WEINIG will exhibit a cross-section of its ripping solutions from the RaimannLine at Xylexpo. The economical, robust multiple rip saw EconoRip 310 is intended primarily for small workshops with high quality standards. Rapid tooling, easy operation and excellent results in cutting up to 310x110 mm are the outstanding features of this rip saw. Its performance is ensured by the optimum workpiece feed system with a prism-guided transport chain, the Quickfix rapid clamping system and the variable pressure unit which pivots around the saw packet. The variable ProfiRip KM 310 M features up to 6 adjustable saw blades, RipAssist width optimization as well as electromotive height setting of saw and pressure units. The automatic longitudinal circular saw FlexiRip 2500 Jrion-Line offers universal applications, optimum timber yield and economical one-man operation.
