This includes fully-automated solid wood strip-floor production as well as innovative solid wood elements for housing construction. Gluelam beam production, façade creation and structural profiling are part of the broad spectrum of the exhibited WEINIG application technology.
WEINIG product unit – Profiling: Brilliant surfaces With its range of moulders, WEINIG covers the entire performance spectrum to satisfy every demand in industry and small business. The PowerLock tool system is an outstanding feature of the product line. Pushbutton setup and perfect surface quality at speeds up to 12,000 RPM make the PowerLock unique in the market. The PowerCom control system allows you to work comfortably and reliably in every situation and enables you to make a profit even on small batches.
This technology will be on display in Hannover in the Unimat and Powermat series and the high-speed Hydromat 3500 which underscores the high-performance that WEINIG offers planing mills with a feed speed up to 250 m/min. Flexibility is offered in this class with CNC-controlled axes and 100 mm axial adjustment, and feed speeds up to 500 m/min can be achieved.
The new Powermat 2000 PP is certain to garner recognition in the future. The machine is designed to produce panels up to 620 mm wide which is excellent for trendy structure profiling. The new Hydromat 450 extra-wide planing machine has opposing, floating vertical spindles which reveal their strength particularly when machining solid construction timber.
NEW: The WEINIG Cube makes planing easier than ever One particular highlight among the WEINIG innovations at the fair is the Cube planing machine. The Cube continues the long series of major WEINIG innovations in planing. The compact, economical and easy-to-use machine is targeted toward companies who use several steps to plane four sides in the traditional way. Comparatively speaking, the Cube is ten times faster and always delivers perfect, rectangular workpieces. There is no time-consuming setup.
All you have to do is specify the planed width and thickness on the touchscreen. In a "Moulder Preview," the settings are illustrated with a laser beam on the workpiece. The user can make adjustments and correct the amount that is planed if necessary. This maximizes the yield even before the workpiece is machined. Four-sided processing in a single pass ensures that the results of the planing are outstanding. This means true right angles, true dimensions and parallel planes with a degree of perfection that is frequently only achieved in conventional methods of straightening and planing after time-consuming reworking and correcting.
The entire design of the compact, space-saving Cube is geared toward efficiency and comfortable handling. The WEINIG EasyLock system allows the precise exchange of blades in the machine in just a few steps. Dimensions can be changed while the machine is operating. The flow-optimized extraction hood saves energy up to 60%. No training is required to use the machine since it is operated intuitively.
With a maximum product width of 260 mm and frequency-controlled feed of 6 to 12 m/min, the Cube is able to satisfy the requirements of a wide range of users. The machine is attractive as entry-level S4S planer as well as a secondary machine for medium-sized businesses that easily and quickly need to produce small batches of planed products.
WEINIG product unit – Cutting: Making more out of wood WEINIG cutting technology has the right solution for small-scale to industrial needs. Precision, the efficient use of resources and productivity are the goals. A wide portfolio will be presented in Hanover ranging from multi-blade ripsaws with adjustable saw blades, cross-cut saws with different output levels and innovative scanning technology, to fully automated system solutions for maximized efficiency. Cutting edge control systems with a uniform user interface make operation easier than ever before, ensure consistency and an optimized production flow.
At the booth in Hall 12, WEINIG will be presenting the range of options for ripping in two complex systems. The ProfiRip KR 450 M multi-blade rip saw is the heart of the ripping system that can handle maximum capacity requirements with a feed speed of up to 120 m/min. The further developed Timbermax 3.0 optimization system can now consider lengths as well as widths and allows you to maximize the output value with 2-D optimization. The automatic RaiScan width measurement system can process edged and non-edged products. The patented Safety Plus kickback protection system makes the workplace safe for users.
With the new FlexiRip compact, WEINIG offers the most flexible rip saw on the market. The new UniRip 310 has the two sided prism guide for perfect cutting results, and is particularly easy to operate thanks to the height adjustment for the pressure unit and saw shaft operated by electrically. Also on display for the first time is the multi-blade, optimizing rip saw, the VarioRip 310, with dual blade adjustment and RipAssist width optimization.

WEINIG also boasts of an entire range of cross-cut saws from pushfeed saws to the fastest throughfeed optimizing cross-cut saw in the world, the OptiCut 450 Quantum II. WEINIG will be presenting the state-of-the-art at LIGNA with a system that can cut and optimize up to 100 meters of wood per minute having an integrated high-performance automatic scanner. The operation is fully automated from the vacuum destacker for the raw materials to the stacking of the cut lengths. The heart of the system, the OptiCut 450 Quantum II, offers an enhanced performance of 15% with its newest design. Random width boards can also be processed. This enables production without a loss of output. The CombiScan+ 200 C 4-D scanner achieves a maximum scanning speed of 240 m/min with its two laser and two color cameras, it detects defects in color and structure and can also be used for random widths optionally. With the OptiCom Direct the entire system can be operated and controlled from one spot. Data is reliably transferred and the boards are monitored over an Ethernet network from scanning, to cutting, to sorting and stacking. The system is modular and can be expanded to up to four OptiCut saws.
WEINIG has a range of developments for many products in the area of cross-cutting. The current OptiCut S 90 Precise reaches a level of automated cutting precision that was only previously achieved in manual processing. The optional pre-scorer from underneath enables boards to be cut to length without tearing even when the materials are difficult to process. In the area of scanner technology, the EScan enables certified sorting by strength in high-speed processing, the OptiLink order manager allows you to control and optimize combined production processes, and the Angle Crack Module improves the identification of angled cracks.
There will be high demand for the new ProfiPress PPL II 2500 high-throughput gluing press. The press which can be used for both hard and soft wood minimizes the height offset of the lamellas and thereby minimizes the necessary sanding and maximizes wood yield. Even with a width difference of 150 mm, multi-track operation is possible. The system is able to achieve a particularly high level of performance. The glued joints are fully cured after a short time and the panels are quickly ready for use.
WEINIG product unit - Windows: Maximum flexibility WEINIG possesses decades of experience in windows centers and is a specialist in window production. The modular Conturex has become a fixture in the market for the economical production of small batches. At LIGNA, the flexible, fully-automated profiling center for windows and furniture will be presented as a type 124 with 5 axes, a PowerGrip clamping table and magazine for 2 x 24 tool slots.

The console machine has five axes and is designed for the complete production of single parts with all the necessary processing steps in a single clamping. In addition to machining scantlings, panel-shaped workpieces and complex geometries can also be machined with a high degree of precision and surface quality.
The new VarioGrip clamping system with an automatic U-axis is a key element of the machine. The workpieces can be mounted independent of the profile and precisely fixed in a nondestructive manner. Additional tools such as spacer rings or shims are not needed. A special software program that can run on Windows is used to determine the optimum workpiece position. A laser is used to display the position.
The automated console table is also a new development which makes operation substantially easier and significantly reduces setup time. Pneumatically controlled infeed tools make heavy workpieces easier to handle.
The tool magazine of the Multirex allows you to place two tools on one mandrel. This feature increases the number of possible tool slots. At the same time, the tool changing frequency is reduced. A new insertion tool for the machining of scantlings prevents the tool from tipping away during infeed. The safety cover enables the controlled removal of chips on the conveyor belt.
The Multirex is controlled using a Campus software program with a uniform graphic user interface. The operating system is based on Windows. The Multirex CNC machining system forms a complete window production system from a single source together with the UniPin dowel inserting machine, the Powermat 500 planing machine and the OptiCut S 50 cross-cut saw.
