Tool measurement with WEINIG: fast and precise set-up thanks to precisely measured tools

New profiles and resharpened tools require repositioning of the tools within the machine in order to achieve precise profile measurements.

If the tool measurements are not known this can prove a time-consuming and material-wasting process which needs to be carried out on the machine. This process can, however, be more or less eliminated with the aid of measured tools and it can be transferred from the machine to the tool room.

The measuring can be carried out mechanically by tracing the contour, or optically with contact-free scanning. The optical method offers the possibility of enlargement and is therefore more accurate and more protective of the material.

If the tool and profile dimensions are known, the machine can be positioned without the need for inefficient trial and error. Tool measuring is indispensible if you wish to reduce set-up times, ensure flexible production and eliminate material waste.
