On behalf of the Weinig Group, Weinig's management team proudly donated 10,000 euros to SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.. The amount was raised by employees during a series of group-wide campaigns.

The Weinig AG Christmas celebrations in Tauberbischofsheim laid the foundations with 4,000 euros. Weinig subsidiary Holz-Her used leading sector trade fair Ligna in Hanover for its own part in the fundraising campaign under the motto "milling for a good cause". For a small donation, stand visitors were able to engrave their own photos with 3D effects on a CNC machine. This raised a further 2,000 euros. The last leg comprised a sales campaign at the Weinig family festival in Tauberbischofsheim. Sales of mobile phone cases raised proceeds of 4,000 euros, all of which was also added to the fundraising campaign. The management team contributed to all three amounts, which amounted to a final total of 10,000 euros.

Holz-Her's funds were used to support the Württemberg SOS Children's Village in Schorndorf-Oberberken. The proceeds of both Weinig campaigns were sent to Nepal, where the company has sponsored children at the Kavre Children's Village for many years. Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal, homeless and orphaned children found refuge and care in Kavre. "It was important to react quickly, particularly since social engagement has been a traditional pillar of our corporate philosophy," said Weinig CEO Wolfgang Pöschl. Besides Kavre (Nepal), Weinig continues to support the Abomey-Calavi (Benin) SOS Children's Village via regular sponsorships.
